series(JPN version)...when there are only 2 games in it. Oh well.

Mana Khemia: 8/10

School and alchemy! I personally am not attracted to alchemy as well as alchemy related games so it doesn't appeal to me much. What's really interesting about mana khemia and what makes me like this series wayyyyyy more than the atelier series is the SCHOOL thing.

The game(rpg) plays in the form of events happening while the main character+other supporting characters are studying in the alrevis academy of alchemy. Apart from things that happened in school(the normal jokes, strange characters, classes, weird and funny teachers), there's a main story which makes it more like a rpg.

The procedure of the game goes like this: lessons slot -> free time ->event(main story). lessons = learn lessons in classes, complete test requirements, get enough chops to progress on to next level. Free time =do character quests which will help in getting which ending the player wants to. Event = main story events.

The battle system is old school turn based which can be relaxing considering how rpgs nowadays like to come up with real-time systems(which isn't bad, just that too much = same). Leveling up is not in terms of experience points but rather AP obtained after battles which can be used in a Grow Book to increase stats and learn new skills.

Same thing goes for Mana Khemia 2(have got a review on gfaqs, 7/10) but some changes. I like the first better, but Ulrika's atelier members are really funny and that score more points.

Overall, what makes the Mana Khemia series different from the normal rpgs is the school factor. It makes me recall the fun times in school etc.

Fav characters: None, but Gunnar is interesting as always(come on, everyone likes Gunnar. But we just need to know the secret behind his appearing out of nowhere trick and how he managed to talk to monsters and create paths to unknown worlds ^^)

Most hated characters: Not really hate, I just don't really like Filo, Nike and Eto.

Most enjoyable moments: Roxis' character quest events and for mana khemia 2...ぷに、 ぷににに!ぷに... =)
PR
Tales series

Phantasia(ps): 8/10
Characters =good, story =good, gameplay=average(stopping for every spell cast is a nightmare, especially efreet...)

Eternia(ps): 9/10
Fun. Replayed 3 times, but hardcore mode Sekundes is still the hardest boss I have ever met in my entire video gaming experience...until I see the fireball abuse video on youtube.

Destiny(ps) 5.5/10
...the score shows.

Destiny(ps2 remake) 8/10
Great and fun....until the last dungeon.

Legendia: 6/10
I wept after I finished the game...because it's finally over. I'd wish they reduce the length of the stupidity and annoyance of shirley's presence in the first half of the game so I can at least enjoy the character chapters without toiling through extreme self-control from smashing the TV, console and everything in my room to finally complete the game with nearly 70 hours.

Abyss: 5.5/10
It's a good thing this game is easy to finish off, or else I won't ever be able to complete it.

Symphonia: 6.5/10
Overall pretty decent, just that the battle system is not that satisfactory for me.

Fav game: Destiny remake for PS2
Fav characters: Cless, Chester, Keele, Moses, Sekundes, Kratos
Hated characters:  Shirley
Wild arms series(1-5)

I did not play altercode f(the remake for 1), but I finished the remaining.

1: Decent but the story is...overused, and no I don't think boomerang's theme is nice. 6.5/10

2: Like it, fun characters, but the latter parts of the game scared me due to personal reasons... 7.5/10

3: Argh...5/10 (I hope you realize that the lowest score I will give any game is 5 due to reasons as posted in entry No.14)

4: ...how long are they gonna continue this mess?Okay, the hex idea first appeared here, but...as for the rest... 5.5/10 But I like the quote:"I'm pretty confident and everything from the neck up." =D

5: 8/10 Finally! There is hope for the series.

Fav: 2
Fav characters: Kanon, Jet, Greg
Hated characters: Lambda, Avril
Suikoden/Gensou Suikoden series(1-5, tactics) 7/10

Besides the 2 suikogaiden, I've finished the others.

1: 8/10 This is good, to be frank the gameplay is not very satisfactory simply it is just your old-school rpgs with no attractive features. But the story and the attempt to do a game with 108 characters(and lots more including your villians etc) is commendable. The story and characters are really the only strong points here.

2: 8/10 2 was my fav rpg for nearly 3 to 4 years until I came upon the Langrisser and ultimately Growlanser series. This is also the game that scored under my record of the most no. of replays through the entire game, with at least 10 times. As with the first, the story and characters are still the only attractive features that made this game a 'masterpiece' to some people. Overrated? yeah I guess. But you can't deny the plot is one of the best rpg war plots mixed with tactical thinking.

3: 5/10 I never gave any game a below 5 score because every game have got its good points which one have to consider(not just because "I hate it so I give it a 1/10", that's fine only for your own opinion, but not in a review). 3 is a very unbalanced game especially in terms of the battle system. I don't think I need to elaborate since many other detailed reviews will explain them, but in all truth, whoever is the one who came up with that buddy system should just bang his head against a wall. The story is not acceptable, though they made things a bit more interesting by having multi-roles but really, this is the start of the decline in in-depth war plots for the entire series. Let's just say despite wanting to give up halfway infinite times, I still forced myself to complete this, but that did not reap any changes in my opinion of how this game is not good.

4: 7/10 Hey, I wrote a review for this on gamefaqs, so check it out there. But to answer why I think 4 is better than 3, even though the story is even worse, and characters are as boring. At least the way battles workimproved. Travelling on world maps, dungeons and fields is more tedious than 3 for definite(the sailing...why oh why? why didn't anyone notice such a nightmare when they were testing the game?). But the overall pace is pretty even, and probably thanks to someone who realized that since the story is already not so good, they decided to keep the game short, therefore at least at the end, the good > flaws

5:7.5/10 5 is a loooong game. I don't like that because it became really boring by the 30th hour since we are just running around in circles with trying to rescue the princess. Obviously, the connection between the runes are ripped off from 2, including sialeeds betrayal = jowy's betrayal. I wouldn't say they are COMPLETELY similiar, but anyone with eyes can see the close resemblances. Characters are more interesting, and at least we get more strategical elements in both story and gameplay battles.

Tactics: 7.5/10 I did a review at gfaqs as well witha  round-up score of 8. Okay, it is true that this game is not that impressive of a srpg game, but most of the characters(okay probably only kika, sigurd and hervey), story and gameplay is really decent imo. I can't quite say why that despite annoyances(those endless waves of disgusting fishes and a main character who misses as if I'm shooting the moon with bow+arrows), I still gave a 7.5.

Fav game(of what I've played): 1. Yes I used to like 2 more than 1, but I'm sorry the presence of jowy and jilia in 2 is such an abomination not even luca cannot salvage that.

Fav characters: ...Pesmerga, Miklotov, Lazlo, Ryhalt/Richard(from 5)
Hated characters:  The 2 abovementioned  "Js", actually I also hated that couple in 5...what was their names I forgot...mariano? mariana? whatever it's that girl who worked at the inn and the guy's name is belcoot right? yeah.
Harvest Moon (ps: BtN + ps2: StH, AWL)

Harvest Moon being sort of like a farming simulating series.

btn: The graphics are not really satisfactory, but they did what they are supposed to do, so can't complain much. The text scrolling is annoying because you can't skip the slow messages. Other than that though, I can't find much flaws, the festivals, competitions and interaction with villagers are enjoyable.

sth: very short game, cell-shading looks pretty. Nothing much of farming to do actually.

awl: slow load times, slow paced, looong game. It's rather similar to btn in terms of how the gameplay works, but only at a much slower rate. Whoever has the patience to complete till 5 chapters, good for ya. I can't.
Final Fantasy (ps:4,7,8,9 ps2:12), less than half of the entire series, but can't be helped, I'll just speak from what I have played. 6.5/10

4: Played it as package of FF4+Chrono Trigger. More of frustrating than challenging. E.g  being boss-like enemies for normal encounters in final dungeon with extreme lack of save points. I can't understand the logic behind that, but to each his own. The story and characters aren't very interesting. I never touched it after that playthrough(yes, I completed it) and will never touch it again.

7: gets a 8.5/10 from me. Nice plot plus cast, gameplay is fine but nothing that is really new. It's not perfect, but you have to admit it's one of the games that open a new direction for rpgs, especially in terms of graphics +3D

8: I hate it, both story+characters. I will say though the gameplay is pretty decent and graphics, like all FFs, is beautiful for its era.

9: Pretty much unknown due to low profile kept during production+publication. Time-eating game with low plot progress and long battles(time-bar based). Load times also get complaints from me. Other factors are above average, thus this is overall a better game than 8 imo. Just hope I don't see too much bizzare pairings.

12: What is up with the gambit system? Not really bad. The only problem is really just one thing, without it the gambit system would be nice: obtaining gambits. Since it's part of the battle strategy, I can't understand why we have to search around dungeons and towns for different gambits, that unless a player can be very thorough, he/she will miss out on certain useful gambits. Obtaining necessary gambits should not be made to be via optional means. What is up with the license board? Using it to learn skills and so on is fine. But well, why do we have to earn a license to equip certain weapons/armor/accessories? This makes equipment of items very unbalanced because when we got the money to buy equipment or when we got a better item via the hunting quest, we don't have the license to equip it thus making it pointless, or when we have the license to equip a certain item, it is not being sold as yet. In other words, it worked the same way as in any other rpgs whereby we can only equip stronger equipment as we progress with the game, so why the need to come up with the entire license issue? In the end, that becomes meaningless.

The story  is not only less than legendary, if all war plots are like this, I'd prefer boring love stories anyday. Let's face it, there's almost no character development, the storyline look fanciful from first glance, but is all hollow inside. No one can deny that, they place too much efforts on the other areas as well as flowery speech(translation in the english version), but the story and character area suffer.

I'll give credit where credit is due though, the graphics are nice(the various cutscenes are nice, especially the ending CG is VERY beautiful and I like it a lot) and the way battles work in terms of the AI and encounters are good for a change. Some dialogue does give some chuckles and I wouldn't say it's completely boring.

It can be a great game to many, but only average to others, and maybe even bad to the rest, and it all depends on what factors are more important to you. For me, I'd go with the average group because I look out more for plot and characters in a rpg. Thus as a game on its own, I'll give 6.5/10

Fav game(of what I have played): 7
Fav character: None...really, none....okay does the 3 shm in advent children count?
Rockman aka Megaman series (gen:1-3 + ps: 8 + x4 + ps2: x8)  7/10

1-3: These are great, really fun. So what if the graphics are not marvelous? The structure layout of every stage are not repetitive, and though the bosses don't have the most original names(metalman...oh my), but I replayed these 3 plenty.

8 and x4: 8 has a very nice opening song. Better and very colorful graphics(expected), controls are precise as usual. Great to beat and repeat. X4 on the other hand, is not so satisfactory, even being able to use zero is not that great to make up for dullness in gameplay.

x8: allows you to use 3 characters, the other 2 being zero and axel, you also get  to choose helpers who worked from the base to provide hints and directions through the various stages.

Favorite game of what I have played: 8
Favorite character: None, if I have to squeeze out something, okay then Zero.
