Boring story, stupid enemy's HP regeneration almost every move(I spent 1 hour fighting the last battle because of regeneration) and unbalanced turn based system. Like that it's not a grid-to-grid moving like other srpgs such as disgaea, view is good, controls are also pretty decent.
BAD TRANSLATIONS, many many errors(what is the professional translator doing? If this kind of standard is good enough for a professional translator, then maybe I can make it as well)
Fav characters: Hijikata Toshizou, Okita Souji

If evil looked like a puppy, it will make our job tougher
Very true, lol.

An enjoyable RPG. I really like the real time battle system because it keeps the player on his toes throughout the entire section. Dive system as usual is pretty fun. More hymns, more songs with vocals and better graphics. Greatly expanded battle system while retaining the familiar feel of the first. Interesting cast of characters Too much conversations while getting recipes and crafting items though.
Distasteful behavior of the two main heroines aside, Ar Tonelico II is a really good game it has become one of the top 10 RPGS on my list just simply because the gameplay is really thumbs up. They just need to give Ayatane more air time instead of only popping up inside Jakuri's cosmosphere as her 心の護

Tenchuu ~ kurenai ~ 6.5/10, personal(how much I like it):8/10
A lil bit late for a review since I played this around half a year ago or so...and very late since this game is out 3 years ago.
Tenchuu kurenai has 2 characters named 彩女(ayame) and 凛(Rin) you can use (not like megaman where you have the same stages to go through but you can choose say...megaman or zero to go through it, but rather you have to move through a "chart" kinda a setup where each stage designates one character you have to use to complete it before you can move on to the next, some stages have alternate paths, but it still comes down to the same story and game progress overall).
Story: 3/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Music: 8/10
Characters: 5/10
Replay: 7/10
The story is well...bland. Couldn't find any other word to describe it. If you were to play this game for story, you'll probably lament. Gameplay is decent, you basically use all sorts of ninjutsu tools and abilities and pass through villages, buildings, caves, hideouts, dams, rivers, forests(only a small portion) etc and your perfomance through the entire stage(you can't save in between at any time) will be evaluated according to many factors such as how many stealth kills, how many time you are discovered by the enemies and so on. Whenever you successfully kill an enemy without being discovered, he/she will drop a scroll(the number of scrolls increase as you move on through the later stages), gathering these scrolls will allow ayame or rin(they each have their own scroll count) to acquire specials skills and abilities.
Characters are...boring. There's almost zero character development and due to the plot itself being just not anything worth spending you time thinking, it would make sense the characters themselves don't flash any bright spotlights.
You can replay various alternate stages, unlock new costumes, play against fights with bossess etc and once you've cleared a stage, it is possible to use ayame in stages where you could only play as rin in the main game) under the stage select option. Aiming for the high ranks will definitely require quite an amount of replays, even the Tenchuu experts are unlikely(not impossible though) to get the best ranking for any stage on their very first play(enemy and environment layout differences). There are also 3 levels of difficulty so you can be sure that if the dull story and characters didn't bother you, you'll most likely spend quite some amount of time on this game.
For those unfamilar with Tenchuu, you can go through the tutorial sections to gain some practice experience. One thing though is, if you aren't at least proficient with the Japanese language, it is better to pick up the us version. Unless your Japanese language proficiency is enough to play through 95% of Wild Arms V and their puzzles without any walkthrough guide, I wouldn't recommend you try this, unless you could care less about the story, characters or have previous knowledge of how Tenchuu games work and play like.

Like any old school shoot em ups, raiden isn't an exception. Not much impressive or different things to see around. Just plain shoot, bomb, avoid bullets, face bosses with one straight screen always. That's pretty much all. The difficulty mainly differs in terms of the speed of shots by enemies, but you get more credits to play with when the difficulty increases, so that's pretty weird for me.
Unless done so badly that one play is enough to send it into the rubbish bin or very good that one is willing to spend infinite tokens at the arcade to play it, but most are average and can serve to be good for a casual gameplay without long hours of commitment. And I think raiden falls under that 3rd category.

graphics: pretty much same as the 1st, gameplay: better than the 1st, music: pretty much same with than the 1st, characters: better than the 1st, story: MUCH better than the 1st
Overall: the 1st was horrible, I'm a player whose main focus and interest in rpgs is on the story+characters, and afterwhich comes the gameplay, so the 1st was really horrible for me. 2 is better, only by a margin, but at least apart from the "dungeons" and some dull story elements, everything else worked okay(poe is so cute ^.^ probably really because of his voice acting).

Disgaea 7/10
Disgaea is fun(better than FFtactics IMO). But the story(5/10) is...no I like Laharl a lot, and Etna is cute, the prinnies are funny, but the rest of the cast is no good. The first part of the story is pretty interesting, but as Flonne and the Gordon group appeared, we get some very brainless humor, which is very sad, because if it weren't so, the game wouldn't suffer such a low score in the character+plot area.
Gameplay is solid, but I don't like how you can't turn off the animated moves and have to watch each and every special move the characters+enemies execute from start to end. Music portrays atmosphere wonderfully.
However, I have a major issue with this series is that I have to replay countless times(with or without special strategies to increase the EXP gotten) of previous maps/increase enemy levels and back for the final fight to be able to beat it. I thought it's pretty much forced upon me( a certain amount is expected, but...not so much). But let's just say that's my issue, and it may not be existent for many other gamers.
2(had a review on gfaqs) is better than 1 almost in terms of everything apart from the main character.

Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of the time 8/10
A short review.
Great story. Those games which failed terribly at putting the icon of angels usage in rpgs should learn from this. Those which failed terribly at coming up with war plots should learn from this. Those who failed terribly at making gamers feel something for the death of characters should learn from this. Those games which failed terribly at making villains who are brillant(you know which ones I'm pointing the finger at) should learn from this. Those games which failed at creating engrossing storylines to reach the target play time and ended up having to drag for at least 10 hours chasing after someone or something in one round around the world should learn from this.
Decent gameplay. No matter how many times I play the older Growlansers, I still can't bring myself to like the ring system. To each his own. But battles are pure fun. Some are quite challenging though. Controls are good.
Graphics are okay, 2D. Voice-acting is nice. As usual, this game is not perfect, but it's definitely great. I just don't like how by the end of the game, half of your significant characters(those with portraits drawn for them) are dead. When Alphonce died, I spent hours crying...alright nevermind.
Fav characters: Alphonce
Most hated character: Crestfer
