Bomberman fantasy race 8/10

Bomberman, well we know who Bomberman is. This game allows you to race using characters from the series in tracks filled with colorful layout, cutish voice-acting and kiddish comedy. Through mazes, beaches, tunnels and valleys, I couldn't get enough of it. A great family game to play, suitable for all ages(yes it's true).

Sonic wings special 6/10

Sonic wings is a verticle side scrolling shmup. You get to choose from various characters to use, each having their own...let's just refer it as plane. There are 2 characters from the same country(for e.g: Japan) who forms a team, in other words, story mode will get you using both characters as 1P and 2P(just don't choose the dolphin, or maybe it's me who don't know how those stupid big bombs work). Once you have cleared the story for all teams, you get to use a secret team. The replay value is surely there, despite bad graphics and music. Good for playing between breaks of long action/role playing games.
Final Fantasy (ps:4,7,8,9 ps2:12), less than half of the entire series, but can't be helped, I'll just speak from what I have played. 6.5/10

4: Played it as package of FF4+Chrono Trigger. More of frustrating than challenging. E.g  being boss-like enemies for normal encounters in final dungeon with extreme lack of save points. I can't understand the logic behind that, but to each his own. The story and characters aren't very interesting. I never touched it after that playthrough(yes, I completed it) and will never touch it again.

7: gets a 8.5/10 from me. Nice plot plus cast, gameplay is fine but nothing that is really new. It's not perfect, but you have to admit it's one of the games that open a new direction for rpgs, especially in terms of graphics +3D

8: I hate it, both story+characters. I will say though the gameplay is pretty decent and graphics, like all FFs, is beautiful for its era.

9: Pretty much unknown due to low profile kept during production+publication. Time-eating game with low plot progress and long battles(time-bar based). Load times also get complaints from me. Other factors are above average, thus this is overall a better game than 8 imo. Just hope I don't see too much bizzare pairings.

12: What is up with the gambit system? Not really bad. The only problem is really just one thing, without it the gambit system would be nice: obtaining gambits. Since it's part of the battle strategy, I can't understand why we have to search around dungeons and towns for different gambits, that unless a player can be very thorough, he/she will miss out on certain useful gambits. Obtaining necessary gambits should not be made to be via optional means. What is up with the license board? Using it to learn skills and so on is fine. But well, why do we have to earn a license to equip certain weapons/armor/accessories? This makes equipment of items very unbalanced because when we got the money to buy equipment or when we got a better item via the hunting quest, we don't have the license to equip it thus making it pointless, or when we have the license to equip a certain item, it is not being sold as yet. In other words, it worked the same way as in any other rpgs whereby we can only equip stronger equipment as we progress with the game, so why the need to come up with the entire license issue? In the end, that becomes meaningless.

The story  is not only less than legendary, if all war plots are like this, I'd prefer boring love stories anyday. Let's face it, there's almost no character development, the storyline look fanciful from first glance, but is all hollow inside. No one can deny that, they place too much efforts on the other areas as well as flowery speech(translation in the english version), but the story and character area suffer.

I'll give credit where credit is due though, the graphics are nice(the various cutscenes are nice, especially the ending CG is VERY beautiful and I like it a lot) and the way battles work in terms of the AI and encounters are good for a change. Some dialogue does give some chuckles and I wouldn't say it's completely boring.

It can be a great game to many, but only average to others, and maybe even bad to the rest, and it all depends on what factors are more important to you. For me, I'd go with the average group because I look out more for plot and characters in a rpg. Thus as a game on its own, I'll give 6.5/10

Fav game(of what I have played): 7
Fav character: None...really, none....okay does the 3 shm in advent children count?
Rockman aka Megaman series (gen:1-3 + ps: 8 + x4 + ps2: x8)  7/10

1-3: These are great, really fun. So what if the graphics are not marvelous? The structure layout of every stage are not repetitive, and though the bosses don't have the most original names(metalman...oh my), but I replayed these 3 plenty.

8 and x4: 8 has a very nice opening song. Better and very colorful graphics(expected), controls are precise as usual. Great to beat and repeat. X4 on the other hand, is not so satisfactory, even being able to use zero is not that great to make up for dullness in gameplay.

x8: allows you to use 3 characters, the other 2 being zero and axel, you also get  to choose helpers who worked from the base to provide hints and directions through the various stages.

Favorite game of what I have played: 8
Favorite character: None, if I have to squeeze out something, okay then Zero.
KOF series(ps: 95-99+KYO + ps2: max impact + XI) 7/10

Better to lump everything together. Talking about the king of fighters, it started with '94, but in '94 the popular(plus utterly overrated) Iori has not made his appearance yet. Putting aside the sheer amount of merchandise(keychains, models, manga, magazines, posters, cards) I bought in year 97-98(yes, 10 years ago) due to the adoration for series but are all thrown away now, getting a kof game every year is not desirable anymore, therefore we do not have such a phenomenon nowadays.

KOF 95-99, is your normal fighting games, taunts, rolls, dodge, punches, kicks, specials etc. In between or after, they included more features like adding a support character to bring out in battles to assist the current fighter as well as more moves + specials.

XI is actually quite similar, but the stages(in other words the various battle arena) are quite badly done imo.

Max impact is probably the worst I have played probably because it doesn't really work like what other KOF games (somewhat 3d actually) and while some may like it, I definitely don't.

KOF KYO works like an rpg(only in a very bad way), the only thing really good about it is the dialogue and artwork. The story is average. Travelling from one town/city to the next is actually instant(apart from travelling between 4 countries because that require taking trains and planes). Battles is one of the worse I have seen. You control Kyo for most part(in some cases you can use 1 or 2 more character together with him, the same logic of 3 persons a team that KOF matches are made up of), and youa re supposed to gather(溜める) energy which can allow you to perform various moves, specials requiring the most. It's turn-based(3 consecutive commands in 1 turn) and the speed and position of where you place Kyo(in terms of a bar which looks like |-----|-----|-----|----| at the bottom) will affect whether Kyo can  cancel the opponent's move which will allow him to perform the move you selected for him to do. This actually follow a certain strategy and theory and if done, you will be able to cancel the opponent's actions for most turns. But is there really a need for such a dull battle system? NO.

The KOF series(the only fighting game series I really liked) wins a place in my heart purely only because of characters and the storyline(I'll have to say the plot for later games are getting lamer and lamer but at least it's not entirely meaningless). It's not fanciful, but at least it did not deteroriate beyond rescue.

Favourite game of what i have played: KOF '95
Favorite characters to use: King, Vanessa, Jhun, K, Terry and sadly Athena
Favorite characters: Jhun
Blazing dragons 7/10

Not so much of fire breathing dragons here, rather talking dragons with plenty of unpolished humour. You play as a dragon who is not part of the highly acclaimed knights of the square table(in actual fact those knights are dumber than your square table), and trying to win the princess to marriage. You travel from places to places(no enemies to fight) to solve various simple plot puzzles(in terms of obtaining key items and using them on various characters which are located in a certain location which will trigger the next plot element to continue on the story). In other words, it's more like playing a movie in the game console, very focused on story, dialogue, but little of gameplay to talk about. Bizzare cast of characters helped unfold the concrete(it's not really THAT good, but it's clogged with chuckles) plot. Take it less seriously as a game, think more of it as a comedy show may prompt less hatred
Abalaburn 6/10

Let's just say the graphics are...polygonal, and not something anyone can accept. You get to play as different characters(through the same stages but with a different goal and story of course). I replayed this around 3 times I believe, last one being Blood(it's a miracle I actually remembered his name). IMO, this falls under action adventure, moving characters in a 3d environment. Controls are rather fixed. Music, story and characters are mediocre, but once past that, the gameplay itself is pretty steady.
